Does our everyday behaviour, our behaviour as consumers and our attitudes toward the planet threaten human survival? And how can we apply sustainable development on a day-to-day basis?
Introduction
As you enter, you see a huge fresco representing the resources required and the waste generated at each step in the life cycle of a t-shirt from production to use and disposal. What can you conclude from this presentation? Come and see for yourself!
A multimedia game
- You then enter into the game area which uses an immense circular screen, tilted in the same way as the Earth itself.
- You can sit at one of the 21 game tables: each includes a dynamic screen and control panel showing sustainable development indicators and the team’s score.
- You can play, by yourself or in a team of two to four people.
- To play, you move a piece on the game table and a camera tracks its position.
The game has three periods:
- A recap of terrible ecological and human disasters from the 20th century : can you find solutions?
- How can we ensure sustainable development in a large North American city while taking into account the environment, the economy and human development? Is it possible to find a balance?
- Now, you have to broaden your options of sustainable development to the whole planet: are your choices still valid? Can we really isolate ourselves?
As the game concludes
- The accumulated game score is displayed.
- You are invited to make a personal commitment to save humanity : this is your ultimate mission.
