Hello Digesto!
Digesto is a new station designed by Énergir and the Montréal Science Centre. It lives on the first floor near the entrance to the Science Centre. Digesto was designed to help visitors of all ages to discover the amazing potential of organic waste. That’s right folks, it turns out that table scraps, agricultural waste, and yes even cow patties, are formidable little treasure troves! They can all be turned into energy — known as renewable natural gas — through a process called biomethanization.
Made locally from renewable sources, renewable natural gas is one of the many ways we can help reduce greenhouse gases. But it doesn’t happen automatically! Humans need to pitch in, so every choice you make counts… starting with filling up your household’s compost bin every week!
