Asia is a continent like no other—a colossal landmass stretching over ten thousand kilometres. From vast deserts to the planet’s highest mountains and richest seas, Asia’s extreme landscapes have pushed life to the limit. Yet across the continent, incredible animals have turned these extreme environments into homes through remarkable adaptations.
Join us on a journey from the Indian Ocean, across the mountains and deserts of Central Asia, through its frozen northlands, and into the tropical riches of the Pacific. Along the way, we swim with a sperm whale family, watch a Tibetan fox hide-and-seek hunt among yaks on the Tibetan Plateau, and catch intimate glimpses of the red panda in its Himalayan stronghold. We also meet the long-eared jerboa in the Gobi Desert, see long-tailed tits feeding on mysterious sap icicles in Japan, and dive into the Pacific’s coral seas to discover the cute-yet-deadly sea bunny and witness a shark feeding frenzy never filmed before. Each story reveals a unique way wildlife has learned to thrive in these challenging habitats.
