The Women and Girls of Science event is back for its 4th edition, and this year’s theme is prototyping! It’s been one special year, so this is one special edition… we’re taking it online for a virtual event from February 1 to 11, 2021!

The Science Centre and UQAM’s Faculty of Science present for the Women and Girls of Science event: a virtual program, a classroom workshop challenge… plus a contest!

The Program

Sign up for this Facebook event and those budding scientists of yours can discover new content each day from the wide world of science and technology. Let them be inspired by women of science with videos, learning activities, fascinating stories, and more!

The Workshop Challenge

Create a prototype for a lifeboat, an idea invented in 1880 by a prolific woman inventor. Put their creativity to work and watch them explore and invent! They’ll love it!

The Contest: Lifeboat Challenge

By participating in the workshop challenge, you also become eligible for the contest!

Take on the Lifeboat Challenge with your students before June 11 and you could win a visit from a Science Centre educator during the 2021-22 school year. That’s right! A “Science Centre on the Road” workshop in your very own classroom! Valued at $5,000, this prize also includes a pair of passes to the Science Centre for every one of your students, and a two-year membership to the AESTQ for you!
