Did you know that, depending on the model, flushing the toilet uses between 6 and 15 litres of water? That's a lot of water when you think about how many times you can flush in just one day. How about saving water by flushing less often? That’s easy enough, right?
To help fight climate change, everyone has to get involved. That’s why it’s super important to talk it up and help raise awareness! Why not challenge yourself to talk about climate change with someone new every day this week? Talking is taking action too!
When you go online, your device isn’t the only thing using power! There is a whole bunch of infrastructure at work to power the internet, and it uses fossil fuels. To help lower emissions, choose to watch videos at a lower resolution one day a week. Just change the quality preference settings on the app you use.
Washing machines need a lot of water and electricity to run and they also release microfibres (also known as microplastics) into our waterways. Since our clothes are the source of these microfibres, why not wash them less often? Give your shirt a sniff test before you automatically toss it in the hamper!
When it comes to food production, raising livestock is the biggest producer of greenhouse gases. Producing plant-based food pollutes a lot less. Why not try some vegetarian recipes? So many to try and so easy to find!
Your secret weapon when fighting climate change is… knowledge! Stay up to date with climate science and climate news by reading a book, watching a documentary, or browsing news articles. More knowledge lets you make choices that have the greatest impact.
