The Foundation’s 2024 Virtual Auction: Behind the Scenes
The Montréal Science Centre Foundation is kicking off its second virtual auction and we’re so excited! This event is organized in support of the Science Centre Foundation and its mission. Since 2000, the Foundation has been hard at work making science and technology accessible to everyone.
Over 80 Lots on Auction
We’ve worked with our partners and networks to assemble more than 80 incredible lots to entice the many tastes of our many bidders. From food and dining to science, tourism, and children’s toys, the auction has something for everyone. Featured items include a $300 gift certificate to enjoy a meal at Toqué as well as passes for some indoor skydiving, blob growing kits, a pair of tickets to see the legendary Travis Knights in his show The Mars Project, a stay at Auberge du Vieux-Montréal, a pair of tickets to fly with Pascan Aviation to visit the Magdalen Islands, a team-building activity inside the all-new Fabrik2 exhibition… and so much more!
Bid Options to Fit Every Budget
Starting bids on all items are set at 35% of their market value. That means that you can help support the important work of the Foundation and walk away with a great deal! Some lots are valued at $50 while others go up to $5,500. You’ll see, there are lots for every budget... and lots of them!
Lot Donors
Most lots were generously donated by well-known businesses such as Bota Bota, iFly, Place des Arts, and TELUS. Others were donated by small businesses that are keen to show their colours. What they all have in common is that they all believe in the Foundation’s mission.
How to Bid in the Virtual Auction
Taking part in our virtual auction is easy and fun! Visit the auction website and find the item or the experience that excites you. Then create an account and place your bid! You can follow the bids you’ve made and bid up (as the case may be), and you can also make a direct donation to the Foundation right on the auction site. Lot winners can then claim their prizes directly at the Science Centre by making an appointment, except for gift cards and event tickets which will be mailed or emailed directly to winners.
Ready? You have until October 29 to place your bids!
How Will Auction Proceeds be Used?
Funds collected through the auction will help the Foundation invite 7,000 students from less privileged schools to visit the Science Centre during the 2024-25 school year.
Do you love spreading joy? There are instant donation options too! Offer families with children with special needs tickets to our Peaceful Morning events. Just visit the “Donation” section of the auction site and help make science accessible to everyone!
The Foundation’s Mission
For more than 20 years now, the Montréal Science Centre Foundation has been funding the development of the Science Centre’s permanent exhibitions and educational programs. Part of its work also involves making science and technology freely accessible to less privileged youth and families.
Take part in this exciting event and help us bring science to everyone!
May the best bid win!
