SOS Radio

A plane crash leaves you stranded in the Far North. You must now find a way to produce electricity with the materials at your disposal so that you can radio an SOS.

Workshop details

While on an expedition to Nunavut, your plane's electrical system fails! Your teams must get to work. You absolutely need electricity, and you must find a way to produce it with available resources, such as water, wind, bicycles and airplane engines. You must make the radio work to send out you SOS distress signal!

Activities

The children will:

  1. Explore ways to generate electricity.
  2. Create an assembly to generate electricity with the wind, a waterfall, or bicycles.
  3. Connect a radio to their assembly and send a distress signal.
