Artemis II screening

Relive the highlights of the mission

In April 2026, four astronauts travelled over 400,000 km from Earth to loop around the Moon— a milestone not achieved since the Apollo 13 mission, over five decades ago. Among them was Jeremy Hansen, the first Canadian ever to venture that deep into space. This summer, relive the mission’s highlights thanks to a screening that takes you through the entire journey, from liftoff to splashdown.

Thank you to NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and Melody Sheep for their images and videos that made this screening possible.

Settle in with a video welcome from Jeremy Hansen before being carried away by breathtaking NASA footage and the haunting music of Melody Sheep for a contemplative journey thousands of kilometres from Earth. Finally, relive the mission’s defining moments through the eyes of the four astronauts themselves: Reid Wiseman (Commander, NASA), Victor Glover (Pilot, NASA), Christina Koch (Mission Specialist, NASA), and Jeremy Hansen (Mission Specialist, Canadian Space Agency). A 12-minute experience that puts you at the heart of one of the greatest adventures of our time.

With Artemis II, Canada became only the second country in history to send an astronaut on a lunar mission. And that’s something the whole country can take pride in! For Jeremy Hansen, a colonel with the Royal Canadian Air Force and astronaut with the Canadian Space Agency, it was also his very first time in space. Not a bad way to make your debut!

… on April 6, as the Orion capsule swung behind the Moon, the crew lost all contact with Earth for roughly 40 minutes? During the planned communications blackout, the four astronauts had the Moon entirely to themselves. They enjoyed a close-up view of its far side, something that only a handful of humans have ever seen.
