The Montréal Science Centre and UQAM are proud to present “Women and Girls of Science” on February 9th 2020. More than twenty different organizations and institutions will participate in supporting and inspiring the interest of young girls in science and technology and help us celebrate the United Nations’ International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Free Entry for Girls 17 and Under
The event is free for girls 17 and under. They can also use their event pass to visit all of our permanent exhibitions. Ask about this special offer at the Science Centre ticket counter on the day of the event. Proof of age may be required. Please note that anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Designed to inspire interest and showcase just how diverse science can be, the event will feature fascinating women from organizations, schools and businesses dedicated to pursuing science in state-of-the-art fields such as aeronautics, video games, environmental sciences, biopharmaceuticals and more! It’s a whole gamut of exciting careers in science and technology just waiting to be explored.

Meet Inspiring Women Scientists
Student researchers from UQAM will also step into the spotlight and share their passion for fascinating research topics such as lithium cells, nematodes, flood plains, and tree rings. After their presentations, they will be on hand to take questions from visitors about their career paths and to talk about the place of women in science.
Science Turns on the Fun
Filled with fun, interactive and engaging activities that explore chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, mathematics, computer science and exercise science, students and professors from UQAM’s Faculty of Science will also host a great series of workshops designed to inspire and capture the interests of budding science lovers of all skill levels.
