Go behind the scenes of the animal world with Joanie Lamoureux!
Host of Télé-Québec’s hit show Le safari de Joanie, Joanie Lamoureux brings audiences face to face with the animal world, where curiosity meets science and education together. Animal health technician, falconry expert, and avid traveler, she offers a behind-the-scenes look at what it really means to work with animals, from daily care and safety to ethics and conservation. Joined by several animals, including birds of prey, a raccoon and her famous dog Susan, Joanie shows how these remarkable relationships can reshape the way we connect with nature.
A talk presented by Vikie Pedneault, biologist, science communicator and founder of La Baleine Nomade. Blending humour, science and civic engagement, she inspires young people to protect the St. Lawrence River and embrace the socio-ecological transition. She is also the host of the Télé-Québec series Drôlement Débrouillards.
The conference will be preceded by a panel featuring a fun look at the careers of Marie Meloche, from the Jane Goodall Institute, and Teodora Stan, a master's student in environmental sciences at UQAM.
