Earthquakes are caused by the powerful movement of plate tectonics and their impact on human populations is extensive. Can your students create structures able to resist these earthly forces? Invite them to take on the challenge!
Divided into teams, students must first build a structure that meets specific standards and then test it on a plate that vibrates and simulates an earthquake. It’s their opportunity to discover the science behind these fascinating phenomena. This program addresses concepts from the progression of learning approach (Earth and Technology categories).
