The world's first water-to-wind converter (PTEVM) was created by pataphysicist Florent Veilleux for the Montréal Science Centre’s opening in May 2000.
Pataphysics, or the "science of imaginary solutions," is what drove Florent Veilleux to build his absurd, whimsical, and utopian machines, each one "designed to baffle adults and spark a child's curiosity and critical thinking."
Harnessing the power of a mighty geyser and turning it into... wind. A far-fetched idea? The PTEVM comes complete with a pasty-water thinner, an alternating converter that turns friendly wind into household electricity, and even a used-wind treatment unit! Visit the Science Centre to see the only plant in the world that turns water... into wind.
