An exhibition created by the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards in partnership with Terra Esplêndida and the Montreal Science Centre.

Travel the world to meet all kinds of living animals! A fun activity to do in Montréal, this all-new edition of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards features 60 photos taken across the Earth’s vast ecosystems capturing charming creatures in their natural habitats.

  • Tropical forests
  • Open landscapes (savannahs, prairies, shrublands, and Mediterranean woodlands)
  • Temperate and boreal forests
  • Freshwater environments
  • Polar regions
  • Oceans

Meet animals from all over the world, including some you may have never seen before. Explore their habitats and see how animals are as funny as we are, no matter where they live! Meet rare and lesser-known species, such as:

  • the Komodo dragon
  • Verreaux’s sifaka
  • the painted frogfish
  • the Japanese snow monkey
  • the mountain gorilla
  • the crab-eating macaque
  • the grey kangaroo
  • the elephant seal
  • …and many more!

Canada has its fair share of comical creatures too! Get in on the giggles and get reacquainted with some of our most emblematic and naturally funny animals caught in the act and caught on film.

  • The red fox
  • The Grizzly bear
  • The common seal
  • The polar bear
  • The sea otter
  • The snowy owl
  • The northern gannet
  • The racoon
  • … and many more!

Take the challenge! See if you can recognize the songs and cries of different animals by playing a fun and interactive quiz game. Made to entertain and amaze visitors of all ages!

Stop in at the photo booth and capture your own funny pose with some of the exhibition’s stars, like the ballerina otter or the dancing lemur, and add your own funny faces and poses to the shot. Express your inner funny creature!

Behind this exhibition is an international photo competition where thousands of new photos from all around the world help raise awareness every year about animal conservation and the importance of natural habitats. Come celebrate the richness and beauty of the Earth’s biodiversity and the importance of working together to protect it. Laughing together is a great way to help us learn how to protect it together.
